The Brian Ransom Ceramic Art Ensemble:
The Ceramic Ensemble features original musical instruments created by Eckerd College professor/artist/musician/composer Brian Ransom, and each utilizes vapor-fired ceramic as its principle resonators. The ensemble features invented winds, horns, flutes, reeds, strings (such as a ceramic harp and guitar) and drums, as well as other original percussion and clay sounding sculptures that employ water and electronics. Many of Brian's songs were inspired by recordings he made in the late seventies in Peru, where he lived while on a Fulbright-Hays Congressional Scholarship. Brian's ceramic ensembles have performed all over the country, often joined by eminent musicians performing live with Brian’s group or on tapes, CDs, movie sound tracks, and dance scores. His most recent record is Tales from the Upper Amazon.
The Menu:
Traditional Tossed Salad
Mixed Greens Salad with apples, walnuts, blue cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette
Chicken Piccata, lightly pounded and lightly breaded chicken breast with butter sauce and capers
Baked Swai with mango salsa
Garlic mashed potatoes and a Vegetable medley
Coffee, Iced Tea and Water will be available and an open Beer and Wine Bar will be provided
*The dinner will be served buffet style, so if you have any food allergies, please notify us when making your reservation and we will accommodate your needs.
